Pre-Requisite: Taking and/or receiving credit for Beggining Grant Writing course.
 
WORKSHOP PART A - GOVERNMENTAL GRANT WRITING

This will focus on locating, and developing strategies for writing medium to large governmental grants. It will also include what should and should not be included in the application section by section including a review of various writing styles. Various topics will be covered such as: Governmental Grant Programs, Reviewing Requests for Proposal, Outlining the proposal – Grant Worksheets, Strategy for Time Management, Developing an Abstract and Need Statement, Quantitative and Qualitative Objectives etc.

WORKSHOP PART B - PRIVATE FOUNDATION GRANT WRITING

This will focus on locating, and developing strategies for writing medium to large foundation grant proposals. It will also include what should and should not be included in the application section by section. It will include a review of various writing styles to accomplish being complete within the limited space provided. This part focuses on Private Foundations Grant Programs and how they work through topics covered in Part A.

Optional Unit

One Optional unit of academic credit is available for this program. Participants must register and complete (attend) all workshops. Please contact Monica Acosta at moacosta@csufresno.edu for information on how to enroll.

About the Instructor

Daniel J. Griffin, Ed. D. has over 35 years of experience in writing, editing, and scoring grants plus managing and evaluating numerous grant programs. Dr. Griffin has written over 210 awarded grants including his last 9 successful grant applications totaling over $11 million. Dr. Griffin has extensive experience in writing proposals with all local, state, and federal agencies plus numerous private foundations.
