So, You Think You Can't Paint
Develop and/or increase your understanding of methods, processes, and techniques of painting through lectures, demonstrations, and hands-on participation. Students will learn to develop and finish paintings for critique in class, with a focus on personal and individual development. This is a fine art based painting class based on historical and modern standards and aspects. It will cover composition, drawing, design, perspective, and color.
Supplies are not included in the price for the class and it is up to the participants to purchase them. Supplies needed are: #2 pencil, pink pearl eraser, fine black sharpies, assorted brushes for acrylic, variety of acrylic color tubes, jar for water, paper plates/palettes, paper towel, canvas paper board and stretched canvas (11"x14"). Participants will have the option of displaying their work at an exhibition during ArtHop week in Fresno (more detailed provided in class).

Instructor: Dale Oftedal has a BA in Advertising Design from Art Center of LA, a Master of Fine Art Painting from Fresno State and has produced artwork for movie titles, packaging, TV commercials, CBS-TV New York, and murals in local courts, libraries, and Fresno State's Student Union. His paintings can be found in private collections in Fresno, Pebble Beach, New York, Los Angeles, and Paris.
