Division of Continuing and Global Education
Medical Coding and Billing Training Program
About the Program
The Division of Continuing and Global Education has partnered with Career Step to offer an ICD-10 Medical Coding and Billing Program. The program is designed to help students build relevant skills for a challenging and rewarding career.
Students who complete the program will have mastered three key skill areas:
- Core concepts of computer use in the healthcare industry, as well as the healthcare information management and reimbursement systems.
- The medical terminology used in the coding profession, including relevant anatomy, physiology, pharmacology, and pathophysiology terms.
- The various ICD-10 code sets. Students will train extensively with the code sets using real-life medical reports and 3M encoding software.
The program is self-paced and entirely online. Students will have 12 months to complete the program upon enrolling. Students who study full-time can generally complete the program within four months.
