Yellow Belt

There is a growing demand across industries for professionals who can identify and implement process improvement opportunities in their daily work.  This introductory training program (with certification pathway) equips participants with foundational knowledge of Lean methodology and basic Lean tools.  Ideal for individuals seeking to drive innovation and act as change agents within their organizations, this course empowers learners to begin their journey in continuous improvement.

The Yellow Belt course serves as a critical entry point for individuals looking to contribute to process improvement efforts. Organizations need employees at all levels who can recognize inefficiencies and understand how to apply Lean tools to everyday work. By developing this foundational skill set, Yellow Belt participants help build a culture of continuous improvement.

Green Belt

Prerequisite: KLS Lean Yellow Belt Training/Certification

The KLS Lean Green Belt Training/Certification is an intermediate-level program that builds upon the foundational principles introduced in the Yellow Belt course. This training deepens participants’ understanding of Lean methodology with added emphasis on team leadership, data analysis, and facilitation skills. Graduates will be equipped to lead and support small to medium-scale process improvement initiatives, guiding teams to identify performance gaps, develop solutions, and deliver measurable results.

Green Belt training justifies its value by developing leaders who can take ownership of improvement initiatives. While Yellow Belts are contributors, Green Belts are trained to lead. They are essential for driving more complex process changes, facilitating cross-functional teams, and using data to make informed decisions. Organizations benefit from Green Belts by gaining internal champions who can lead measurable improvements and help scale Lean practices beyond isolated efforts.

Participants will also develop mentoring skills to support Yellow and Green Belts and manage a portfolio of improvement projects aligned with organizational goals.

The Black Belt program is justified as a strategic investment in high-level problem solvers and change leaders.
