Fundamentals of Thai Yoga Therapy Certification Training - Cancelled
This type of bodywork comes in increasing demand for those in the work place, corporate and/or industrial settings, health/yoga retreats, health spas, gyms, sports events, and clinical settings. It also complements and can be used in conjunction with a variety of other bodywork modalities and forms of yoga. The instructor uses these techniques exclusively with Fresno State athletes as a part of their Sports Medicine program.
You will learn how to integrate Thai Yoga into your existing practice, if you are already a LMT. If you are new to bodywork in general, you will gain both the confidence as well as competence to compassionately give a 45-60 minute session to those you care about.
This immersive training focuses on the dynamic flow of gentle yet highly effective movements that are easily initiated through precise body mechanics.
Students will learn to implement a natural healing system into a 50-minute session. 19 therapeutic postures are sequenced together for general balancing of the body. Strong body mechanics are emphasized to support a more sustainable practice. The course covers the 50-minute sequence along with basic theory of Thai Yoga and Ayurveda (or the science of life), benefits and contraindications for the work, as well as relevant cultural and historical background. Students will receive a textbook and certificate with their 16 hours of continuing education through the National Board of Therapeutic Massage and Bodywork.
