In her current role as Program Manager for the Veteran Education Program, Christy leads strategic initiatives that expand access and enhance support services for military-affiliated students. She oversees program development, collaborates with campus and community partners, and ensures that veteran students and their families receive comprehensive guidance from enrollment through graduation.
Previously, Christy served as a Veteran Advisor and Certifying Official at Fresno State, guiding students through the complexities of VA educational benefits, academic advising, and graduation planning. She partnered closely with university departments, faculty, and staff to create a coordinated network of support. In addition, she co-coordinated campus-wide veteran events, supervised VA work-study students, and facilitated training to strengthen campus awareness of the needs of military-connected students.
Christy also served as a Learning Specialist for the TRIO Student Support Services – Disabilities Program at Fresno State Foundation, providing academic coaching, coordinating tutoring services, and developing initiatives that promoted academic persistence, wellness, and personal growth.
She holds a Master of Public Health (MPH) with an emphasis in Health Promotion and a Bachelor of Arts in Social Work from California State University, Fresno. A proud U.S. Coast Guard veteran with honorable service in administration and recruitment, Christy brings discipline, leadership, and a strong sense of service to every role she undertakes.
