International New Student Check-in and Orientation

International Dog Days (New Student Orientation) will remain virtual this January 13th due to the COVID-19 pandemic, with an in person Welcome Event the first Friday of School, January 21st, 2022. Orientation is mandatory for all new students and has multiple components; including Check-In, Live Orientation via Zoom and CANVAS International Orientation Modules.

International Dog Days (New Student Orientation) will be held on January 13th, 2022 at 8:30 am PST (Pacific Standard Time).

Students will receive instructions one week prior to the scheduled International Dog Days, in their Fresno State email. This email will provide directions on how to access the Online Pre-Orientation, the CANVAS International Orientation Modules, and the link for the Zoom meetings.

With so many students dealing with financial uncertainty due to COVID-19 pandemic, President Jimenez-Sandoval has made the decision to waive the Dog Days fee for the Spring 2022 semester. This means students will NOT have to pay the $70 Orientation fee.

We're very excited to engage with you and provide all new students a meaningful experience while they successfully transition to Fresno State!

All new Spring 2022 students need to complete a mandatory check-in regardless if you are here in the US, planning to come to the US before 02/02/2022, or you wish to take online classes overseas during Spring 2022. The check-in is mandatory by the US government. Not completing the check-in link may result in severe immigration

Please see the link for "Check-In" https://fresnostate.co1.qualtrics.com/jfe/preview/SV_54scEyRLXDKn1Tn?Q_CHL=preview&Q_SurveyVersionID=current

Copy of your immunization records, including TB test, MMR, Hepatitis B (if you are 18 or younger) and COVID-19 vaccination documentation. Your immunization record in English or your immunization with an English translation will be accepted.

If your final destination is the Fresno Yosemite International Airport (FAT), the readily available transportation from the airport to your destination (dormitory/apartment/friend’s house) is taking a taxi (cab) outside the airport, or using a rideshare service such as Uber or Lyft (about $15-$25).

Unfortunately, due to the COVID-19 pandemic, we will not be able to offer Fresno State Airport Pickup Service for the Spring 2022 semester. Fall 2022 Airport Pickup Service is still to be determined.

Make sure you have cash (about $30) if you are taking a cab and the address to your destination on you. If you are staying at an apartment, make prior arrangements with the apartment manager to meet you within one or two hours of your arrival at FAT to check you into the apartment.  If you arrive after office hours, you may need to check into a hotel to spend the night.
