All students are required to meet Fresno State immunization requirements.
30 days before arrival:
- Obtain copies of your immunization records (in English or translated into English) from your healthcare provider.
- Complete the Tuberculosis (TB) Screening Questionnaire AND the TB Blood Test Verification Form (if indicated). Lab results MUST be attached to the Verification Form.
- Review and complete Fresno State's immunization requirements to ensure your records are up to date.
- Keep your records available for upload.
Once you receive access to MyBulldogHealth:
- Upload your immunization records under "Medical Clearances." Learn how to upload your records using our video tutorial.
- Complete TB Screening Questionnaire.
- Submit all required documentation immediately after acceptance to Fresno State.
Failure to provide proof of the above requirements WILL prevent class enrollment and will result in a hold on your account, hindering any progress towards capturing your desired diploma/degree.
If you need assistance or have questions, please call the Student Health and Counseling Center at 559.278.2734.
As mandated by the California State University Chancellor's Office, all F-1 and J-1 visa holders must maintain adequate health insurance coverage for the entire duration of their nonimmigrant status.
To comply with this mandate, international students at Fresno State must purchase the university-approved UnitedHealthcare insurance policy as a condition of enrollment.
Please note that approximately 1 month before the class registration opens for the following semester, an "INTL Insurance Verification" hold will appear in your Student Account (please see the screenshot below), preventing you from enrolling in classes. To remove the hold, simply purchase health insurance. The hold will then be cleared within 1-3 business days. Please plan ahead and purchase insurance for each semester you plan to register for classes, before class enrollment begins (around April 20 for Fall and November 16 for Spring), to secure your spot in the classroom.
For more information and to purchase the required health insurance, please refer to our dedicated health insurance page.
The Bulldog Thrive Plan is completely free to Fresno State students. The Plan is free and comes at no additional cost to you. That's because a portion of your student fees already funds the medical, counseling, and wellness services offered right here on campus at the Student Health and Counseling Center (SHCC). So when you use the Thrive Plan, you're simply taking advantage of care you've already paid for, with no extra bills or surprise charges along the way.
You can view and download the Bulldog Thrive Plan flyer here.
