On-Campus Employment
On-Campus Employment: As an F-1 or J-1 international student, you are eligible to apply for on-campus jobs starting from your first semester of study physically at Fresno State. On campus employment does not need to be related to your major area of study. You may work for a total of 20 hours or below per week during Fall and Spring semesters, and more than 20 hours per week on campus jobs when it's winter or summer breaks. An on campus employment/job needs to be approved by the International Office prior to the start of the employment. You will need to complete the On-Campus Employment Update Form online, and submit On-Campus Employment Acknowledgement and On-Campus Employment Verification to the International Office for approval.
International students work on campus in a variety of positions, such as teaching/research assistant, library student assistant (tech ,lending), DISCOVERe guide, grader, behavioral interventionist, project assistant, custodian, academic mentor, event staff, office assistant, waiter/waitress, etc. All on-campus student positions are posted through the Career Development Center, on a website called HireFresnoState.
