Why did you choose Fresno State?
The great cost of living and my program advisor is one of the best in my field of study. Furthermore, the staff at Fresno State made me feel very welcome and the students who attend the college are very diverse and helpful. I also wanted to study in the state of California and Fresno being the midpoint between various destinations was an added bonus.

What’s the best thing about Fresno State?
Diversity on both the students and faculty make you feel right at home. We also have so many resources on campus that not many colleges in California are unable to offer. Furthermore, almost all these opportunities are cost-free and are tailored to be helpful for students.

What are your favorite campus activities?
Our Student Union is well equipped to allow students to destress at any time. Going bowling or attending one of our athletics events with my friends are some of my favorite things to do. Helping students through our many leadership positions also is a rewarding experience.

What are your favorite local activities?
Just grabbing food with some of my friends in a seemingly endless list of places to eat is always fun. Paintballing, bowling or attending local concerts is also on the list.

What’s your favorite thing to do in Fresno, California?
Hiking some of the local trails and meeting all kinds of new people and their pets out in nature is great. Furthermore, with Yosemite and Sequoia national parks being an hour away (with many more local lakes much closer) makes for a fun and interesting weekend.

What are your plans after you graduate?
I am hoping to find employment in California. I want to be able to improve my skills in my field of study in order to create an impact in my sector.

Advice for new students?
Getting involved on campus early is crucial for your own development. You can gain many personal skills that can be helpful in the future. Joining a club is also a great way to meet new people who have the same interests. Don’t be afraid to ask questions. Everyone here is waiting to help you.
