Why did you choose Fresno State?
Fresno State has the program that I wanted to enroll in. It is located in the Central
California, and it is affordable.
What’s the best thing about Fresno State?
The best thing about Fresno State is the people. The diversity of students and the
support you get from professors, classmates, and staff is genuine because they want
you to succeed. If you like a sense of belonging, this is the place to be.
What are your favorite campus activities?
Ice cream days, Thanksgiving potluck, and of course, hanging out with my fellow students
of RCSA (Rehabilitation Counseling Student Association).
What are your favorite local activities?
There are tons of shopping centers everywhere you go and flea markets on certain days.
What’s your favorite thing to do in Fresno, California?
I enjoy walking around Woodward Park on weekends. But I also love to drive to nearby
hike trails in Bass Lake and Shaver Lake. Of course, Yosemite National Park is the
best, but it can get crowded. So, choose the best days and season to visit.
What are your plans after you graduate?
I really love my program. I plan to practice my skills and join a non-profit and integrated
mental health services center.
Advice for new students?
Being new in school and unfamiliar with the city can be frightening. But my experience
has been incomparable. The school offers part-time jobs which can help you discover
more about the culture of Fresno State. People are sincere and pleasant. Be brave!
I promise you; you’ll be happy you did!
