Why did you choose Fresno State?:
Fresno State offers a great sense of community, is affordable to attend and has great
opportunities for students working on careers in healthcare. I also enjoyed the hands-on
approach to learning, the supportive staff, and the university's diverse environment,
which made everyone feel welcome and supported in their personal and academic development.
What’s the best thing about Fresno State?
Fresno State's wonderful thing is its welcoming and diverse community. The university
offers numerous avenues to students to foster meaningful relationships, volunteerism,
campus employment and to grow academically through clubs, mentoring and other experiences.
What are your favorite campus activities?
The best things about campus life are the student clubs, campus events, volunteering
and networking with other students. I particularly like being a peer mentor and making
students feel like they are part of the Fresno State community and supported.
What are your favorite local activities?
I enjoy exploring Fresno's food spots, getting out to enjoy nature, exercising at
the gym, and attending events and campus activities. I also love learning and unwinding
in various locations on campus and in the community.
What’s your favorite thing to do in Fresno, California?
Fresno's best places to visit include nearby natural areas and the Central Valley's
ambiance. I also like exploring new cafes and restaurants, going to Fresno State events
and traveling around the city at night.
What are your plans after you graduate?
After graduation, I plan to further my career in healthcare. I want to gain clinical
experience, advance my education, and eventually pursue higher-level opportunities
in nursing and healthcare management.
Advice for new students?
The message I would give to new students is to get involved early, ask questions and
not be afraid to step outside of your comfort zone. Time management is quite crucial,
particularly in tough majors. Make friends with other students and professors, use
campus services, and don't worry about getting everything right; it's about working
consistently.
