Academic Programs
The Division of Continuing and Global Education is dedicated to not only expanding access to Fresno State’s innovative programs, but also to reinvesting resources throughout the University to support students of all ages. One way this is accomplished is through the multitude of adult-education opportunities hosted by the division. Workforce-friendly degrees and certificates are offered year-round at Fresno State through evening and weekend classes.
Degrees
Degrees for working professionals and unique populations. These degree opportunities are accessible and effective for those who work full time and want to pursue higher education.
Accelerated Bachelor in Business Administration
Allows business majors to complete the final two years of their degrees in 17 months. Cohorts are offered in Fresno and Visalia.
B.A. in Liberal Arts Online (Reconnect Program)
An exciting new degree completion program for former Fresno State students interested in returning to school to complete their undergraduate degrees.
B.S. Criminology Off-Campus Degree Completion
Designed for current and former government employees (and their spouses) interested in specializing in law enforcement.
B.A. Social Science Degree Completion
The BA in Social Science is restricted to students incarcerated in two prisons in Chowchilla: Valley State Prison (VSP) and Central California Women’s Facility (CCWF)
Master of Business Administration for Executives
An accelerated MBA program designed to accommodate the schedules of busy professionals. Classes meet on Saturdays.
Master of Science in Water Resource Management
A groundbreaking, fully-online degree focused on application of water resources in agricultural, industrial, and urban environments.
Certificates of Advanced Study
Continuing and Global Education offers graduate-level certificate programs for students looking to enhance their professional skills and careers. These certificate and professional development programs are offered in the classroom, as well as online. Online programs include geographic information systems, community and regional planning, and psychiatric mental health.
Certificate of Advanced Study in Geographic Information Systems
A fully online, 12-unit program that enables students to acquire, manage, analyze, visualize, and represent geospatial data.
Certificate of Advanced Study for Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioners
A fully online, 19-unit program. This unique program meets the requirements for national certification by the American Nurse Credentialing Center as a Mental Health Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner

Integrating Agriculture Across the Content Areas in the Elementary Classroom
This course is designed to help elementary school teachers increase their awareness and understanding of agriculture and its value as the context in which to teach core content subjects. Participants will learn how to access reliable, relevant, and accurate resources to help them integrate agriculture across the elementary curriculum while meeting California Content Standards.
Sociopolitical/Cultural Contexts of Latina/o/x Education and Pedagogy
This course will cover sociopolitical, sociocultural, and sociolinguistic concepts as they relate to Latina/o/x communities, education, and pedagogy. Discussion of commonalities of culture, language, and home country or countries; major historical periods and events; values, belief systems, and contributions; migration, immigration, and linguistic patterns; historical and contemporary demography.
Teaching Content in Spanish
L1 pedagogy materials used to teach content in bilingual classrooms. Students will deliver lessons in the Spanish language in bilingual classrooms in local schools under university supervisor. For BAP credential candidates only.
Language Minority Students in the Secondary Classroom
Course taught in Spanish, focuses on literacy and advanced Spanish in bilingual education. Part of 3-course pathway to complete the Bilingual Program. Students must have passed lower division Spanish courses, such as Spanish 4A & 4B or passed language assessment. Advanced Spanish writing, reading, listening & speaking, needs of bilingual children, history of language policy, and how to create a multimodal literacy unit using bilingual children's texts.

24 Unit Early Education Certificate Program
The 24 Unit Early Education Certificate Program offers intensive preparation for teachers who have, or are obtaining a Multiple Subject Teaching Credential and want to enhance their ECE qualifications for teaching in TK or K classrooms.
School Nurse Services Credential
This program leads to the professional (clear) credential approved by the California Commission on Teacher Credentialing.
Speech Language Pathology Assistant Authorization
A six-unit program that provides recent graduates with the essential knowledge and fieldwork to become speech language pathology assistants.
Global Awareness Certificate of Special Study
The Global Awareness Certificate is a Certificate of Special Study awarded for successfully completing at least 12 semester units, tailored to the student's international study and travel.
